rebecca salzhauer
is an actor and writer from new york city.
She graduated from Yale University with a BA in Theater & Performance Studies and Humanities.

Rebecca is at home with new work, rich text, offbeat comedy, hyper-articulate characters, and plays that get a little weird and/or embrace theater magic. She spent a lot of her childhood falling asleep to Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner's 2000 Year Old Man albums, which explains a lot.

She's worked on projects at Clubbed Thumb, Bay Street Theater, St. Lydia's, The Tank, LaMaMa, Symphony Space, and Cape Fear Regional Theatre. She studied classical acting at BADA and is a proud alum of The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals and The Actors Center's Mentorship Cohort for Emerging Artists.

Her play Krav Maga in the Temple Basement Starting This Sunday, Bagels to Follow was a finalist for the Jewish Plays Project, as well as a semi-finalist for the O'Neill NPC and the Terrence McNally New Works Incubator. She co-created and starred in the web series, i'm so happy for you!!!!! with her comedy trio, Stress Dream.

Now, she is writing a play about dogs. In the fall, she'll start her MFA at NYU Grad Acting.
